New Perspectives Psychology

rachel@newperspectivespsychology.ca

I would like to acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples. Namely, the Niitsitapi (the Blackfoot, Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika Nations), Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), îyârhe Nakodabi (Stoney Nakoda), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Métis People of the Settlements and Six Regions of the historical Northwest Métis homeland within Alberta. I honour and acknowledge all of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who have lived in, traveled, gathered on, and cared for these lands for generations. I am grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. I make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory I reside on.
